How to Change the Wallpaper for Each Chat

Our guide will show you how to change the chat wallpaper for a single chat.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the WhatsApp app on iOS. Also note, users can also set different wallpapers in dark mode.

Step 1: On the Chats screen, tap the chat you wish to edit.

Step 2: Tap the contact’s name at the top of the screen.

Step 3: Tap “Wallpaper & Sound.”

Step 4: Tap “Choose a New Wallpaper.”

Step 5: Tap one of the options (Bright, Dark or Solid Colors) to browse WhatsApp’s different wallpaper options, or tap “Photos” to choose a photo that’s saved on your device.

Step 6: Tap a wallpaper to preview it.

Step 7: Tap “Set” in the bottom-right corner of the screen to use this wallpaper in your chat.
