As the owner or manager of an ‘Offline’ small business you are keenly aware of the need to have a constant supply of new customers or prospects. You may have tried many methods of advertising in the past including Yellow Pages, Newspaper Ads, Magazine Ads, Direct Response or Mail Ads, Radio or Television Ads, Telephone Call Centers or others. All of these programs have a few things in common: • They are expensive. • They can be time and labor consuming. • They are usually very poorly targeted. • They are not very effective. The very rapid growth of the Internet has spawned millions of ‘Online’ businesses that are selling their products and services online. These folks have had to find, invent and use different tools to find customers. Many of these tools can work for ‘Offline’ businesses as well. One of the interesting facts about using these online tools is that the cost of being more effective is much lower, and in some instances even free. The benefits of using these tools and technologies are: • Establishing and maintaining communication with and selling more to your existing customers. • Attracting more new customers either locally or globally. • Increasing customer retention.
